Lahore High Court appointed local commission to know the factual position of the dispute between Bank of Khyber and Sidra Rice Mill and adjourned the proceedings to February 27 in a petition filed by owner of the mill Kalsoom Javed. The petitioner had contended that the bank officials sealed their mill without lawful authority. She said that her father and brother are also missing for the last week and expressed apprehension that the bank authorities had kidnapped them.
She said she has also registered a criminal case at Haji Pura police station, Sialkot. She said their mill is not defaulter, however, they are in negotiation with the bank, amounting to rupees 90 million. She said due to the mill closure, labour of the factory is facing hardship and it has also affected their repute in the market. Senior Vice President of the bank appeared before the court and contended that the mill was sealed to avoid any threat of theft of material present in it. The court, after hearing SVP bank, appointed local commission to find the facts of the matter.
