The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has appreciated the decision to form Pak-Qatar Joint Investment Company to cooperate in the fields of hydropower and offshore as well as onshore oil/gas exploration and production. The LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh in a statement on Friday hoped that the formation of Joint Investment Company on energy projects would help strengthen bilateral ties by translating existing political and cultural relations into commercial and economic interaction.
He said that the co-operation between the two countries would go a long way in solving the acute energy shortage being faced by the country for the last many years and has stalled economic activities. He hoped that the Qatar would extend maximum support to Pakistan in winning Free Trade Agreement with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). He said that the decision to activate Joint Business Council (JBC) would also help promote interaction business communities of the two countries. He mentioned that the LCCI is always ready to extend support to the government in achieving economic targets.
