Hundreds of non-teaching staff working on daily wages in Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) run educational institutes on Sunday continued their demonstration and sit in outside National Press Club, demanding regularisation.
The employees of grades 1 to 16 warned that they will observe complete strike from March 5, closing their respective colleges and schools if their demands are not fulfilled.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with demand of regularisation and slogans against the FDE as well as Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD). They said various ministries and departments have regularised their staff, but the non-teaching staff was still waiting for their regularisation.

Staff Welfare Association, Abdul Rauf said that the services of around 750 daily wage staff are yet to be regularised. These employees are being paid as low as Rs 5,000 a month and it was difficult for them to manage.
General Secretary Islamabad Model Colleges Employees Welfare Association Mohammad Sadaqat Abbasi said "we started the protest last Monday but still our demands have not been accepted".
Non teaching staff is also part and parcel of education set up and they must be given job security through regularisation of their services.
Spokesman CADD Rafique Tahir said that the process of regularisation of daily wage employees is underway and completed soon.
All the daily wage and contact employees will be regularised according to the announced policy of the government. The employees will be regularised on the basis of their seniority in the first phase.
