First two-day Youth Festival Tando Allahyar (YFTA) is being organised in the district from February 28 to 29 to promote healthy activities among the youth and help them choose their right career.
According to a press statement issued here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Tando Allahyar, Rafique Ahmed Buriro said that first two-day youth festival Tando Allahyar (YFTA) was being organised jointly by the district administration and provincial department of Youth Affairs to provide platform to the youth of the district for healthy activities and discovery of talent.
The deputy commissioner said that the festival would be held from February 28 and 29 at Provincial High School Tando Allahyar, while 26 high schools, 3 higher secondary schools and 2 degree colleges of the district were participating. He said that provincial secretary Sports & Youth Affairs would inaugurate the festival on February 28 while the Sindh Minister for Youth Affair Faisal Subzwari would be chief guest at its concluding ceremony on February
29 and distribute prizes among the winning students and youths & the members of the management committee on their best performances. He said that age limit for the participants had been fixed between 15 to 29 years in the field of debate, photographic, painting and calligraphic competitions.
He said that the prizes of Rs 17,000, Rs 12,000 & Rs 7,000 would be given for the first, second & third position holders respectively in each competition separately. He said that various NGOs, educational oriented organisations were also setting up their stalls. He hoped that the youth festival would be proved as instrumental source for the youths belonging to backward areas.
