Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila on Tuesday visited the forward bases of Pak Marines at Pak-India border to oversee the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the area. The Naval Chief was accompanied by Commander Coast Rear Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi. A detailed briefing on the strategic significance and challenges faced in the Sir Creek area was given to the Naval Chief.
While talking to the officers and men, the Admiral lauded the selfless devotion of troops in carrying out the difficult tasks of safeguarding these critical frontiers. He was highly appreciative of the arduous job of digging a canal by Pak Marines for local fishermen who now earn their living from these waters unhindered and with safety. The Naval Chief commended the rescue and relief efforts of Pak Marines during recent floods in Sindh. He also praised their endeavors for empowerment of women in the area through various industrial homes.
Later, the Naval Chief also visited Battalion Headquarters at Sujawal and Chor Jamali.-PR
