US soybeans rose for the seventh session on Tuesday, reaching a five-month high at midday on expectations that shrinking supplies in South America will boost US exports especially to top buyer China. Soybean futures have increased 12 out of the last 13 sessions, with CBOT March soybeans up 12-1/2 cents at $13.06 per bushel, the highest since September 22 on a continuous chart.
CBOT March corn rose 7 cents to $6.51-1/2 per bushel, the highest price since January 12, bolstered by surging soybeans, but gains were limited by ideas of US farmers will plant the largest corn area since 1944. CBOT March wheat rose 2.1 percent, or 13-3/4 cents, to $6.59-1/2 per bushel, a near three-week top.
