Security agencies have identified those involved in firing on defenceless bus passengers on their way to Gilgit on Tuesday in which 18 people were massacred, claimed Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Wednesday.
The total number of attackers was 20 and they came from nearby mountainous area. The name of terrorists would soon be made public, Malik said while talking to the media after a visit to National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) headquarters. He further said that army has been put on high alert in order to avert any untoward incident and army contingents could be sent to Gilgit and Skardo if needed.
To a question, he said that CM Balochistan has sent a list of 930 missing persons and the Interior Ministry has conducted an investigation of the list under which only 48 people are missing. To a question about issuance of visa to Indian film actor, Katrina Kaif, he said that government will issue visa to her after checking her NOC. Malik said that people are getting employed during the tenure of Pakistan People's Party, and no one is being deprived of it.
Earlier, the minister announced regularisation of 14,000 employees of Nadra who had been earlier working on contract. "All employees of Nadra whose contracts have expired since October 17, 2011, have now been made permanent," he announced. A notification to regularise all contract employees will be issued, he added.
