It is a day of great pride for all Pakistanis. Earlier today, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy became the first-ever Pakistani recipient of an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards.
Her documentary, "Saving Face", follows a London-based Pakistani plastic surgeon as he journeys to Pakistan to perform reconstructive surgery on survivors of acid violence while his patients struggle to come to terms with the aftermath of their disfigurement. Congratulations to Sharmeen, her co-director Daniel Junge, and all those who worked on the film. Sharmeen you have done us all proud.
