Partly Facetious: It takes time to draft red warrant

"Red warrants have been issued to Interpol for Musharraf's arrest."
Published March 2, 2012

"Red warrants have been issued to Interpol for Musharraf's arrest."
"Indeed, and this is how many days or weeks after Rehman Malik said he would issue these warrants?"
"Hey, it takes time to draft a red warrant."
"Doesn't Malik have experience in drafting a red warrant?"
"I am not sure if he has ever issued a red warrant against any one, but I do know that he has enough experience in letter writing. He himself claimed that Naheed Khan, with zero qualification in security-related matters, was responsible for Benazir Bhutto's security on the day the party leader was assassinated while Malik was charged with the responsibility for corresponding with Musharraf's team that was responsible for Ms Bhutto's security."
"Isn't there a contradiction there: Naheed Khan being responsible for Benazir Bhutto's security while Malik was corresponding with people who had the wherewithal to provide security to Ms Bhutto with necessary resources in terms of manpower and control over security apparatus?"
"Hey, we are talking about Malik: logic doesn't enter into his statements. But the important thing is valuable lessons were learned."
"What? That Naheed Khan should never be made the Interior Minister?"
"Don't be facetious."
"Seriously what lesson do you think was learned?"
"That the head of the party must not be allowed to mingle with the people of this country and that accounts for President Zardari staying in his bunker and addressing select gatherings."
"I see, but that may harm the party's re-election prospects!"
"I doubt it - hundreds of election officers have been promoted, the politics of consensus where the focus is on a deal where only one serious candidate from any party be allowed to stand and..."
"That's not democracy, the Prime Minister recently stated..."
"The Prime Minister in a few months time may be unable to contest the elections so what he says or said in the past will matter little."
"Ah yes, indeed."
