Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Rumman Raees has said that he is happy to see Pakistan team at the number one spot in the T20 format of the game, however, the Karachi born wasn’t convinced with his side’s performance in the One Day Internationals (ODI).

Talking to media at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Rumman said that New Zealand team was playing with high moral against visiting Pakistan as they lately had defeated a strong West Indian side.

The 26-year-old said though the team tried its level best to win the ODI series but unfortunately batting and bowling did not work in tandem. “We fought back in the T20s after a disappointing run in the ODIs,” Rumman stated.

When asked about bowling with the new ball, Rumman said, “We weren’t able to deliver it right, which cause problems to us. But in T20 we improved our basics which led to series victory.”

Pakistan laid claim to being the best Twenty20 side in the world after beating New Zealand in the series-deciding third Twenty20 match in Mount Maunganui on Sunday.

The 18-run victory gave Pakistan a come-from-behind 2-1 series win that will see them overtake New Zealand at the top of the world rankings.
