Balochistan High Court (BHC) while issuing notice to Chief Secretary of the province here on Monday directed concerned authorities not to release development funds to Abdul Qadir Gilani MPA. The court also directed Chief Secretary to produce details regarding the funds allocated to the MPAs on a plea filed by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhotani against Gilani.
The court will further hear the petition on March 12. Bhotani prayed the court to disqualify Gilani, as he had pledged his vote to the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in return for development funds worth Rs 650 million in the recent Senate elections. The petition sought the court to direct the Chief Secretary to stop the release of the funds.
