The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar has established Center of Intelligence Systems and Network Research (CSINR). Vice Chancellor, Imtiaz H Gilani formally inaugurated the center on Monday. While speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor said that the center was an example of industry-academia linkage, established with the active participation of faculty of Electrical Engineering Department.
He expressed the hope that the facility should follow spirit; "indigenous research to find out indigenous solutions," so that it directly benefits the society as a major goal. Dr Gul Muhammad, Director CSNIR said, the center will provide indigenous solutions to the industry, based upon experience and expertise it has, adding, we are embarking on ambitious projects to develop a common research base at University for research scholars and industry people to explore innovative ideas.
CSNIR has kicked off with two projects, funded by ICT R&D. These include, 'secure and intelligent transportation system using wireless sensors for congestion control' and 'Prototype for secure billing with real detection of malicious endnote connection using wireless sensor network, at the cost Rs 2.5 billion.
