PIC case: Tribunal records statements

The Defective Drugs Inquiry Tribunal on Monday recorded statements of Professor of Medicines, Chief Executive Service Hospital, Dr Faisal Masood, and Professor of Pharmacology, Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore Professor Munaza Qayyum. Dr Masood also produced documents in support of his statement. The Tribunal questioned them about various aspects of the matter being probed by it.
The tribunal has further notices issued to Professor of Pathology, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, Professor Nosheen Yousaf, Chairman Pharmacy Department, University of Veterinary Sciences Lahore, Miss Farzana Chaudhry and former Chief Drug Inspector, Rauf Khalid, to appear before the tribunal on Tuesday (March 6). Tribunal is probing the matter to ascertain causes of deaths of patients of PIC due to use of contaminated drugs, to fix responsibility and to make recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.
