Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has said that Shahrah-e-Quaideen is an important corridor of the city and its reconstruction would complete in next four months. Traffic flow on this road would be made better and a pedestrian bridge will be installed for convenience of citizens, he said while talking to media at ceremony to inaugurate reconstruction of Shahrah-e-Quaideen.
He said pace of work on development projects in Karachi was much better now. Many of the under completion projects had been completed and some of the new ones were started in the current month. He said Municipal Services Tax was not a new tax only the bills could not be distributed for some time and now these were delivered to citizens.
He said various districts of Sindh had been charging municipal services for years while the cantonment boards were also charging it. He said work on flyovers of Shahrah-e-Faisal will also start this month for which funds were approved and the technical work had also been completed.
On this occasion while briefing Governor, Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed said that both tracks of Shahrah-e-Quaideen were being widened and the existing roundabouts on this road will be removed and replaced with two to three 'U turns' at appropriate distance.
Service road will also be constructed alongside the main track. He said the completion date of this project was June 30, however the 1.55km long and 7.8 meter wide corridor will be completed in next three to four months with a cost of Rs 315million. He further informed that an alternate traffic plan was being implemented for this project and city wardens were deputed to save the public from any inconvenience.
