District Co-ordination Officer Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema has said that teams have been constituted at union council level for monitoring and prevention of dengue virus. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding dengue prevention arrangements on Tuesday, disclosed an official.
The DCO Lahore said a comprehensive strategy has been evolved for eradication of dengue virus and larva in the city, in which every union council will be properly covered. "It has been decided to conduct fogging and spray in the sensitive areas of the city," he added. He directed the Town Administration to pay special attention on graveyards, tyre shops, junkyards, ponds and under construction buildings, and keep the equipment and machinery operational.
He further directed to pay special attention on indoor and outdoor activities and also to monitor the performance and attendance of the staff who have been assigned duties during the dengue prevention campaign. He said dewatering sets should be operational and in case of rain drainage of water should be top priority. He said fogging and spray machines should be in order and process of surveillance should be continued. He directed the concerned official to send Lady Health Visitors in the field after training. "No negligence would be tolerated during dengue prevention campaign," he added.
