The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Sindh will review the audit reports including deferred paras/printed paras of the various financial years of six provincial departments from March 13 to 22, Business Recorder learnt on Tuesday.
Official sources told that on the directives of Chairman PAC Jam Tamachi Unarr, the Secretary PAC Hadi Bux Burirro has issued letters to all six important departments including Irrigation, Health, Board of Revenue (BoR), Police (Home), Law and Education and Literacy for the scheduled dates of meetings.
According to new schedule, PAC would consider deferred paras/printed paras for the various financial years of the Irrigation Department on March 13 while the Health Department would be considered on March 14, 2012. Besides, the PAC would consider the deferred paras/printed paras for the various financial years of Board of Revenue on March 15, Police (Home) on March 20, Law department on March 21 and Education department would be considered on March 22 of this year, sources told. The Principal Accounting Officers had been strongly advised to hold the Departmental Accounts Committee meetings well before the meetings of PAC, sources told.
All the departmental heads have been asked that 40 copies of the working papers duly reconciled with the Accountant General (AG) Sindh and concerned audit departments should be submitted to this secretariat at least seven working days before the date of the meetings.
It is further directed that along with hard copy of working papers, a soft copy should also be sent to this secretariat as the same are required for the PAC MIS system, sources told as quoting the letter issued to concerned secretaries of departments.
It may be noted here that PAC had fixed dates of February 28, 29 and March 1st 2012, for the meetings to consider the audit paras of various years of Health, Irrigation and Education and literacy departments but these meetings were being cancelled due to non-serious attitude of officials of said departments. Instead of taking stern actions against concerned officials of the said departments, Jam Tamachi Unarr, Chairman PAC had cancelled the scheduled meetings of committee on the requests of officials, sources concluded.
