The annual Sports Day 2012 of Dawood Public School held at Memon Family Park Bahadurabad, Karachi on Tuesday. Around 1600 girl students of school participated in Mass PT displays, Yoga, gymnastic, several competitions such as cricket, races, singing, poetry reading.
Pakistan cricket batsman Younus Khan also attended the Sports Day as a chief guest and shared his appreciation for the girl students. The objective of the Sports Day was to build self esteem, discipline, competitive spirit as well as physical skills of the students.
The event was largely attended by parents of most of the students of DPS, who lauded the performance of the participants. Dawood Public School celebrated Sports Festival from February 16 to 26, 2012 which culminated in the Annual Sports Day on March 6, 2012. The festival was spread over a span of ten days in which all four houses Bilquis Edhi House, Bapsi Sidhwa House, Fatima Jinnah House and Anita Ghulam Ali House participated.
The student council honoured Younus Khan by a well organised march past. Younus Khan was requested to bowl the first ball of the over before a cricket match played between the Blue House and the Red House. The Red House won the match by three runs. Ms Sabrina Dawood presented the winning trophy to the Red House. Younus Khan presented the medals and trophy to the winning team and runners up of throw ball match. He addressed the students and appreciated their efforts at presenting such an organised and well prepared Sports Day.-PR
