Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) and Edible Oil Carriage Contractors Association (EOCCA) after a meeting with Commissioner Karachi announced to end their prolonged strike which had completely halted the supply of edible oil from the port for several months.
The office bearers of both associations informed this in a press conference followed by meeting held to resolve the ongoing dispute between PVMA and EOCCA. The meeting was attended by Mian Muhammed Ahmed, Patron In-chief & Founder President, Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry (BQATI). Farhan Ansari, BQATI's acting President, Chairman Law & Order Advisory Committee, Shakil Ashfaq Chairman Legal & Finance Advisory Committee, Sheikh Amjad Rashid, Chairman Standing Committee on Industries, FPCCI, Haji Maqsood Hussain Qadri along with Chairman/Director of all Ghee and Edible Oil Industries, reached on a consensus to resolve the ongoing dispute of PVMA and EOCCA, with Roshan Ali Sheikh, Commissioner Karachi at his office.
In a long discussion, PVMA & EOCCA reached on an understanding resolving the matter and announced to put on an end to ongoing strike. Mian Muhammed Ahmed, Patron in-chief, Usman Ahmed, President and Abdul Rasheed Jan Mohammed, Vice President, Farhan Ansari, Chairman Law & Order Advisory Committee, Shakil Ashfaq, Chairman Legal & Finance Advisory Committee along with Managing Committee of BQATI in a welcoming note expressed that BQATI in its efforts welcome both the parties reaching on an agreement and resuming the supply of oil from Port Qasim to up country Ghee Manufacturers, this will ease the pressure on consumer as well as the manufacturers.
Usman Ahmed, President BQATI briefed that since last few months a deadlock situation had come up in Bin Qasim Industrial Zone which was a source of great concern and anxiety to us and the foreigners working at Port Qasim Industrial area, now this move will have a positive impact on our valued members industrialist, foreign investor, traders, foreign engineer and staff working in Port Qasim Industrial Zone. Mian Muhammed Ahmed also briefed that at a time when commodity prices are going high this will help to bring down the consumer price.-PR
