The Deans Committee has supported the point of view of acting Vice Chancellor Dr Parveen Shah as she expressed with the representatives of SUTA and SEWA in their joint meeting. The acting Vice Chancellor who convened the meeting of the Deans of the Faculties of the University on Thursday to brief them about details of the meeting held with SUTA and SEWA office bearers.
Deans of the Faculties Dr Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr Noor Afroz Khowaja, Dr Abdullah Dayo, Dr Sanaullah Bhutto, Dr Parveen Munshi, Dr Noor Muhammad Jamali and Additional Registrar Ghulam Murtaza Siyal and others attended the meeting.
Dr Parveen Shah briefing the meeting about details, informed the Deans that the SUTA and SEWA have been demanding the removal of the Police and Rangers and also opposing the deployment of private security guards and added that she has told the representatives of SUTA and SEWA that if they take responsibility of security affairs at campus through announcement publicly by holding a joint press conference with the administration, the University will forward their demand to the government. Dr Shah said that she had informed the representatives of SUTA and SEWA that only their legal demands after fulfilment of requirements would be considered on merit basis.
