Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) organised a book fair on Thursday wherein a wide range of books on the topics of medical, general knowledge, religion, politics and fine arts were put on display.
Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Dr Javed Ikram inaugurated the book fair, which was participated by a large number of doctors including Principal PGMI Professor Dr Tariq Salahuddin, Professor Fozia Farzana, Professor Muhammad Iqbal, Professor Abu Bakar Siddique, Additional Dean Dr Bushra Suhail and Dr Sharjeel Ilyas.
Professor Dr Javed Ikram admired the efforts of Professor Tariq Salahuddin for successfully conducting the book fair, launching website on dengue and promoting medical education of high standard at MGMI. Leading book publishers displayed their stalls at the book fair from where many students purchased books. Different stall holders including palmists and astronomists attracted a large number of students.
Talking to participants Professor Tariq said that computer, mobile phones and other modern information technologies have badly affected the habits of book reading among youth. He stressed upon the students to always keep bocks with them as they are great source of knowledge and guidance.
