The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct research in the field of agriculture and livestock, organise capacity building training and various development activities.
ASF will provide financial and technical support for research in areas of livestock and agriculture. Vice Chancellor UVAS Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and ASF Deputy Chief Asad Zahoor signed the MoU at Syndicate room on Friday. Vice Chancellor UVAS, Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha explained that university was focusing on result- oriented research that would be helpful for the uplift of the livestock sector. He said the university had established two community farms at Ravi Campus, Pattoki for the expansion of extension services. He said the university had also developed modern dairy animal market at Ravi Campus.
ASF Deputy Chief Asad Zahoor urged the UVAS management to share any research breakthrough to the market and farming community. He stressed that the university should groom its graduates in a manner that they should emerge as entrepreneurs instead of job seekers. The MoU will remain valid for five years.
