President, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Pervaiz Shaukat has welcomed on Friday, Senior Federal Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi announcement to launch a comprehensive insurance package for the working journalists, and hoped that steps would be taken to implement it soon.
Pervaiz Elahi announced it on Thursday, during a luncheon meeting with officer-bearers of the National Press Club and senior journalists, said that the working journalists throughout the country would be provided with life and health insurance from the Workers Welfare Fund, under Ministry of Human Resource Development. Talking to APP, Shaukat said the working journalists are facing a difficult situation in the existing circumstances as in the recent years several journalists lost their lives while performing their professional duties.
