First reuse water system introduced

Google Inc has announced the first reuse water system at one of its US data centres, pairing with a local water and sewer authority on the venture involving its Douglas County centre Google said in a statement Thursday the system is financed by the internet search giant and owned by Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority.
It is designed to help keep the Chattahoochee River clean and conserve water in Georgia. Google says it financed construction of the authority's Sweetwater Creek Sidestream Plant, a reuse facility that intercepts up to 30 percent of the water from the local water and sewer authority's treatment plant. Google's data centre house computers that run searches and other services. The authority's executive director, Peter Frost, said the reuse system will particularly help during summer months.
