The day and night temperature rose by 3 to 4 degree Celsius in the plains of Punjab and Sindh on Saturday night and Sunday as weather remained dry in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours.
In its daily weather report Met Office said that it recorded highest maximum temperature 40.0 C in Pakistan at Hyderabad and 36.0 C in Punjab at Rahim Yar Khan. Lowest minimum temperature - 1.0 C in Pakistan was recorded at Parachinar and 9.5 C in Punjab at Chakwal.
According to the report the minimum night temperature in the plains of Punjab and Sindh is ranging between 14 and 20 degree Celsius and maximum from 30 to 40 C. In the provincial capital, Lahore, minimum temperature rose to 15.0 C and maximum to 32.0 C forcing the people to wear summer clothes.
In its synoptic situation report, the Met Office said that Saturday's westerly wave slightly moved eastwards and now lies over Kashmir and adjoining areas.
Mainly dry weather is expected over most parts of the country. However isolated thunderstorm/ rain with light snowfall over the hills may occur over Parachinar, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir today (Monday), " it forecast. Me office said due to rain with snowfall over the hills, temperature is not rising in the upper regions of the country, therefore presently water inflow in the four live rivers is the lowest in a decade , Indus 16,100 cusecs and Jhelum 14,150 cusecs which has caused 50 to 70 percent shortage of water for sowing the Kharif crops next month.
