A delegation of 70 distinguished writers, poets and intellectuals from Pakistan will pay a goodwill visit to India in May 2012. World Punjabi Congress Chairman (WPC) and internationally reputed writer and intellectual Fakhar Zaman will lead the delegation, which will visit Amritsar, Chandigrarh and Patiala and inter-act with their Indian counterparts besides taking part in various literary activities.
Also in May this year, the World Punjabi Congress in collaboration with the International Sufi Council, the both have their headquartered in Lahore, will organise an international conference on peace in Lahore. The international moot, which will continue for three days, will be attended by some 50 delegates from different foreign countries and another 150 delegates from all over Pakistan.
Fakhar Zaman, who also heads the International Sufi Council, said in a statement here on Thursday that the cultural exchanges of writers, poets and intellectuals between India and Pakistan under auspices of the WPC were stalled for sometime because of unnecessary restrictions on visas.
