Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik reiterated on Thursday that the government was ready to hold conditional talks with Taliban, adding that the negotiation was the only way to bring peace and stability in the region.
The minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was fighting war for the survival of the country, adding that the sacrifices of martyred police and security forces will never go in vain. The minister said that drone strikes were against the sovereignty and integrity of the country, which must be stopped.
He said that Pakistan had rendered enormous sacrifices in the ongoing war against terrorism. Talking to reporters after laying floral wrath on grave of Shaheed FC Commanded Safyat Ghaur and other martyrs at FC corps headquarters on Thursday, he said that they salute brave FC officers, who embraced Shahadat.
Malik said that the terrorists were getting external support. However, he said that they (terrorists) would not succeed in their nefarious designs and any anti-state act would be foiled. The minister said that People of Pakistan and Afghanistan wanted peace and stability in the region and they were united. He urged Hamid Karzai's government to take steps for controlling infiltration of terrorists alongside the border. He said that terrorism was not in the interest of both neighbouring states; therefore the Afghan government should take strict measures to stop cross border terrorism.
