Dollar move slightly on the local currency market on Monday in the process of trading. The rupee was marginally down losing two paisa for buying and selling at 90.80 and 90.82, respectively.
INTERBANK MARKET: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee also turned lower against dollar by five paisa for buying at 91.10 and by 15 paisa for selling at 91.30, they said. However, the rupee was higher against euro by gaining 16 paisa for buying at 120.00 but lost 34 paisa for selling at 121.00, they added.
The dollar bounced off a 10-day low against yen on Monday, scooped up on the dip by Japan importers after it found support on the charts, although doubts lingered about the greenback's strength after a rally in the US bond yields took a breather. The yen also fell against euro, shedding 0.7 percent to 109.74 and versus the Australian dollar, losing 0.2 percent to 86.50. The euro hovered a whisker away from a three-week high against dollar, last fetching $1.3267, close to Friday's peak of $1.3294.
The Australian dollar, which suffered a steep fall last week, at one point popped up to $1.0493, from $1.0475 late in New York on Friday, with traders noting good buying interest from a Swiss bank. It was last flat at $1.0453, Reuters added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee was opened on a negative note and remained under pressure against the US dollar in the local currency market on Monday. According to the currency dealers, the dollar witnessed fresh demand that helped its appreciation in the open market. At the end of trading, the dollar was closed higher at Rs 91.10 and Rs 91.40 as its buying and selling rates against the last Saturday closing of Rs 91.00 and Rs 91.25, respectively, the dealers said. Likewise, the rupee also remained weak and registered decline against the pound sterling. The pound was purchased and sold at Rs 143.50 and Rs 144.00 as compared to previous closing of Rs 143.00 and Rs 143.70, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday. The dollar opened at Rs 91 (buying) and Rs 91.2 (selling) against same previous rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 91 (buying) and Rs 91.2 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 142 (buying) and Rs 142.5 (selling) against the same previous rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 142 (buying) and Rs 142.5 (selling).
