The newly-appointed managing director of Pakistan International Airlines, Rao Qamar Suleman did not take charge of his office on Monday. The government has issued notification of the appointment of Rao Qamar Suleman (former chief of Pakistan Air Force) as managing director of PIA. The PIA managing director Nadeem Yousufzai has been transferred and posted as director general of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Despite issuance of a notification, Rao Qamar Suleman and Nadeem Yousufzai did not take charge of their respective offices. It is learnt that Rao Qamar Suleman wanted to be appointed chairman of PIA with more powers and authority.
