Punjab Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Dr Waseem Akhtar has strongly opposed restoration of Nato supplies warning that such a decision would prove to be end of the government. He was of the view that the government was playing a drama by holding a debate in the Parliament on restoration of Nato supplies to hoodwink the people of the country.
He accused the government of playing a dangerous game in Sindh and Balochistan which, he warned could harm the solidarity of the country. He alleged that targeted killings in Karachi were being patronised by the rulers. Akhtar also criticised increase in prices of petroleum products saying that instead of burdening the people with unbearable tariffs, the government should cut down its expenses.
