Interest-free loans: Rs 223.663 million to be disbursed amongst 1,568 students

An amount of Rs 223.663 million will be disbursed as interest-free loans to deserving students for pursuing higher studies within Pakistan for the session beginning from 2010-2011.
The Apex Committee for Student Loan Scheme met under the chairmanship of Kazi Abdul Muktadir, Executive Director, State Bank of Pakistan in Karachi and approved the amount of interest-free loans that will be disbursed to 1,568 deserving students in different disciplines from all over the country for pursuing Graduation, Masters and Ph D studies.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Finance Division, SBP, National Bank of Pakistan, MCB Bank Limited, Allied Bank Limited, Habib Bank Limited and United Bank Limited.
