nokia-app-summit-2012-logoKARACHI: Revolving around the solutions that mobile apps on Nokia Store bring to the table, Nokia App Summit 2012 concludes on a promising note by establishing a collaborative environment for all stakeholders.

The Nokia App Summit 2012 showcased Nokia’s line-up of relevant mobile app content developed by Pakistani developers for Nokia Store and how these add up to a mobility experience par excellence for Nokia users.

The Nokia App Summit 2012 comprised a conference, a developers’ workshop and an app exhibition; offering a viable platform for exchange of thought-provoking ideas and solutions that creative mobile apps are capable of bringing to life. The Conference featured speaker sessions of leading industry experts who enlightened the audience about the involvement of mobile technology in the field of healthcare, education, media, advertising and ICT. The panel discussions revolved around the future of mobile technology in Pakistan and channelized corporate sector to explore new business opportunities by making smart use of mobile apps. Similarly, the Developers’ Workshop trained Pakistani app developers and students to work on apps for the Asha series full-touch devices launched recently by Nokia. Parallel to this, the open-house App Exhibition gave an opportunity to the visitors to discover the true potential of local content available on the Nokia Store once it is downloaded on a Nokia mobile phone.

Commenting on the large-scale event, Rabia Nizami, Business Development Manager, DX, Nokia Near East said, “Nokia’s ecosystem continues to grow at an encouraging pace in Pakistan. With weekly downloads averaging at about 2 million downloads from Nokia Store in Pakistan and a growing local developer tractions, we felt that the time is ripe to demonstrate to the corporate sector the kind of viable avenues Nokia Store can open for them. Nokia App Summit 2012 successfully portrayed the true potential of locally relevant mobile apps on Nokia Store to potential partners and how they can use mobile apps to reach out to the masses right on their mobile phone.”

The Nokia App Summit 2012 concluded on a positive note and provided a unique platform to industry experts, corporate sector, app developers and consumers alike to understand the depth and breadth of the Nokia Store. It also facilitated them in understanding the variety of ways in which different partners and stakeholders can utilize Nokia Store to realize new business opportunities and contribute to the overall growth of local ICT sector in the process.
