Pakistani products attracted a large number of visitors in the Tex World Exhibition USA-2012 due to quality and competitiveness of the products displayed there. Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (PDAP) participated in Tex-world USA, which is the largest sourcing event in North America for apparel fabric buyers.
R&D and product development specialists, designers, merchandisers and overseas sourcing professionals, says a statement issued by the authority on Monday. The TDAP invited applications from the prospective participants through a local advertisement in the leading newspapers and five companies were selected for participation in the twelfth edition of Tex-world USA showcasing 162 exhibitors from 14 countries. All nominated five companies participated in the three day trade show.
Two companies were from denim sector, one from grey fabric, one from sleepwear and one from cotton garments. Almost 3,369 verified attendees were reported reflecting an increase of 22 percent, compared to January 2011. Traffic on the show floor registered the highest attendance ever for an opening day in the history of Tex-world USA.
The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Faqir Syed Asif Hussain also visited the trade show to meet the Pakistani exhibitors, and enquired about any facilitation needed by them. Exhibitors appreciated the fact that, in this exhibition they could meet with the prospective customer companies' entire design team, as opposed to shows located in other regions where they could only get to meet a single member of the team.
Pakistani exporters gave a mixed feedback on the show, most of them expressed their satisfaction at the number and quality of visitors during the show and are expecting sizeable business from the contacts established by them at their stalls.
