Four drug free centres will be established in Karachi for providing medical treatment and counselling to drug addicts. First of these centres will be inaugurated in Landhi by the provincial minister for I.T Raza Haroon this week. This was said by Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed while addressing a ceremony held by Drug Free Foundation in a local hotel.
Administrator Karachi said those were great human beings who put their life in danger for others and it gives motivation to the whole society if services of such people were appreciated at all levels. He said the drug addicts were belonging to ignored class of our society and the drug mafia which is very powerful traps them and they eventually even lose their lives. Rehmat Hashmi, Ms Ameli of American Consulate and others also spoke on this occasion and paid tribute to Shaheed Naveed Younis who was awarded Tamgha-e-Shujaat (medal of gallantry) as a recognition of his services.-PR
