Gold was little changed on Tuesday as forecast-beating US manufacturing data fuelled optimism the world's biggest economy is on the recovery track, trimming bullion's safe-haven appeal. Spot gold was nearly flat at $1,676.16 an ounce by 0810 GMT. US gold was also little changed at $1,678.10. Spot platinum gained 0.8 percent to $1,656.99 an ounce. Prices have risen 19 percent so far this year. Spot palladium rose 1 percent to $657.25.
