UK-Pak Trade exhibition in Manchester from May 11: Pakistan Fashion Week launched
"It is a pleasure and privilege for the UK government to be associated with Pakistan fashion which has come of age," British Deputy High Commissioner Francis Campbell said this at a reception hosted by him last evening at his residence to announce the soft launch of Pakistan Fashion Week along with co-host Maheen Khan.
Campbell said the British government had undertaken a campaign to be associated with different social sectors in the arts and entertainment field, and added that the British Council was also promoting the fashion industry throughout the world. Co-host Maheen Khan presented the British Deputy Commissioner with a shield to acknowledge his contribution to making the fashion week a success. The British Deputy High Commissioner said 2012 was a special year for the people of the United Kingdom in two significant ways. One is the holding of the London Olympics from July 27, and the second is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, which is a significant milestone for the British people and members of the Commonwealth.
UK trade officials present at the reception said a three-day UK Pakistan Trade Exhibition is to be held in Manchester from May 11 to May 13. "This will be one of the biggest events of its kind that will take place at Manchester Central Arena. This will be a great opportunity for businesses to network and build business to business contacts," they said.-PR
