PCB XI, rode on a master unbeaten knock of 207 by Sami Aslam, imposed massive 302 runs defeat to visiting British Universities Charity XI in a one day match here on Wednesday at Gadaddi stadium. Sami's sterling knock and Umar Waheed who smashed exact unbeaten 100 runs propelled home side to mammoth 388 for 2 in allotted 50 overs. The touring side fell cheaply and were all out on 86 in 27 overs.
Mohammad Nawaz was the pick of the home bowlers for capturing five wickets for just 2 runs in 6 overs. Usman Qadir took three wickets, Zia ul Haq and Mohammad Irfan each got one wicket. Earlier, home captain Babar Azam won the toss on a bald wicket and elected to bat. Sami who consumed 155 balls, defied hot weather and British bowlers to produce a fine display of batting, smashing 22 boundaries and three sixes in a blistering knock which shattered the confidence of the opponents.
When English side batted non of their batsmen could live upto the expectations and their wickets fell one after another. The visiting teams main scorers were opener Brenden Mckerchar (24), James Kostoris (14), Aamer Khan (10), Shahid Ilyas (9), Maxwell McAclister (9).
