The Institute of Architects Pakistan - Karachi Chapter (IAP-KC) is holding a three-day event engaging professionals and stakeholders of building industry from April 13-15, 2012 at Expo Centre, Karachi. The event, branded as IAPex consists of Building Products Exhibition and Conference on the theme of 'Building Bridges'.
The conference will highlight the need of creating strong liaisons among various professionals, manufacturers, stakeholders and academia engaged in creating built environment of the cities. Professionals whether they are architects or engineers, planners or developers, interior designers or interior decorators, landscapists or horticulturists; they all need to understand the role and contribution of each other in order to create sustainable environments for a society to enjoy and celebrate it.
The IAP-KC has invited renowned professionals from Sri Lanka, Berlin and Pakistan to deliberate on the subject of great importance. They include Ar C. Anjalendran (Sri Lanka), Ar Eike Roswag (Berlin), Ar Raza Ali Dada, Ar Hafiz Sher Ali, Ar Roland de Souza, Ar Yasmeen Lari, Ar Syed Yawar Abbas Jilani and Ar Gulzar Haider.
Concurrent to Exhibition and Conference, IAP-KC has also constituted a Students Design Charrette for IAPex 2012 to highlight some urban issues of Karachi and come up with creative design solutions to help ease the constant dilemma that every citizen of this city faces. This Design Charrette will culminate in presentations during the IAPex Conference by the student groups studying Architecture at various institutions of the Province of Sindh.-PR
