The Karachi Port handled 107, 360 tonnes of cargo including 90,724 tonnes of import; 16,636 tonnes of export cargo and 2,240 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 90,724 tonnes comprised of 26,106 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 28,297 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 3,367 tonnes of sulphur; 22,800 tonnes of coal cargo; 4,566 tonnes of rock phosphate and 7,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,636 tonnes comprised of 7,672 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 1,404 tonnes of cement cargo; 3,435 tonnes of rice cargo and 4,105 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. A total number of 1,029 loaded 20' containers and 495 loaded 40' containers are handled during the reported period. While there are 29 unloaded 20' containers and 96 unloaded 40' containers are handled during the business hours on Friday.
A total number of four cargo vessels namely Unity, M T Lahore, Omera-1 and Helsinki carrying containerised cargo, oil tankers, bulk cargo containers and containerised cargo respectively are sail out to the sea during the business activity hours on Friday.
There are total number of four cargo vessels namely Teamworth No-1, Yvonne, C S L Ride and Maistros are currently occupying the berth to load/offload general cargo containers, bulk cargo containers, containerised cargo and oil tankers respectively during the reported period of the business on Friday. A total number of two cargo vessels namely S L Star and Teamworth No-1 are expected to sail out to the sea on Friday, while there are seven more cargo vessels namely Chariot, Maistro, Kota Akbar, C S L Ride, Ina Lotte, Sea Mirror and Yvonne are expected to sail out to the sea on Friday.
A total number of four cargo vessels namely Kota Akbar, APL Sokhna, APL Brisbane and SSCL Busan carrying containerised cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Friday evening, while there are a total number of nine cargo vessels namely Hellespont Crusader, Scirocoo, Champion Pride, Lodestar Genesis, Parmis, Olivia, Spur Lupus, UBC Chile and Hua Qiang carrying base oil tankers, high speed diesel oil tankers, naphtha solution, chemical cargo containers, containerised cargo, caol cargo containers, cement cargo containers and steel ore respectively are expected to arrive during at the business activity hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo volume of 78,030 tonnes comprised of 2,822 tonnes of chemicals, 52,386 tonnes of diesel oil; 10,999 tonnes of edible oil and 11,823 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port on Friday. The total export cargo volume of 22,323 tonnes, comprised of 22,323 tonnes of containerised cargo is handled during the reported period of activities on Friday.
There are six cargo vessels namely M V Unity, C V CGM Chopin, C V Mare Atlanticum, C V Analips Lady, M V Bunga Alpine and M V ETA Gas carrying containerised cargo, diesel oil tankers, edible oil tankers and chemical cargo respectively are sailed out to the sea on Friday morning from Qasim International Containers Terminal, Fotco Liquid and Oil terminal, Liquid Container terminal and Engro Vopak Terminals respectively.
A total number of six cargo vessels namely M V Mare Atalnticum, M V Unity, C V CGM Chopin, M V ETA Gas, C V Analips Lady and M V bunga Alpinia are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containerised cargo, chemical cargo, diesel oil tankers and edible oil tankers respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Friday.
There are two cargo vessels namely M T Karachi and C V Bhairavia carrying furnace oil tankers and chemical cargo containers respectively are currently to line up at the outer anchorage to sail out to the sea at Engro Vopak Terminals and Fotco Oil and Liquid Terminals on Friday. There is only one cargo vessel namely M T Karachi carrying furnace oil tankers is expected to arrive at Fotco Oil Terminal during the business activity hours on Friday.
