The number of thalassaemia patients in Fatimid Foundation, Peshawar centre has crossed the number of 5,000 and the over-crowding is multiplying the difficulties of the patients.
The growing number of thalassemia patients had increased the concerns of advisory board of the foundation, which besides the provincial government had also requested the resourceful philanthropists for extending financial assistance in the expansion of the centre.
In this connection a meeting of the Fatimid Foundation was also held here with Administrator, Colonel Afzal Hassan Khan (Retd) in the chair. Others who attended were included trusty, Khalid Sultan Khawaja, Member Advisory Board, Haji Rashid Ahmad Apollo, Ahmad Shukaib Sahibzada, president, Rotary Club, Peshawar New City, Ghayyur Ahmad Sethi, Dr Ihsan-ul-Haq and others.
On this occasion Haji Rashid Ahmad Apollo while offering his services assured all possible co-operation with Fatimid Foundation and termed creation of awareness for arrest of thalassemia disease inevitable.
He stressed need for launching an awareness campaign in this regard at both urban and rural areas and urged the students, politicians, Ulema and people from other walks of life to come forward and play role in this regard.
