PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif has welcomed President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to India and hoped that tensions between the two neighbouring countries would reduce through talks. "There should be negotiations between India and Pakistan on all issues including Kashmir to move forward in resolving the issues," he said while talking to reporters at the residence of PML-N Leader Afzal Khokhar on Monday.
Nawaz said dialogue process between the two countries must continue to find out solution of different issues. He also supported Pak-India cricket, saying Pakistan cricket team should visit India while Indian cricket team must undertake tour to Pakistan for which adequate security measures be adopted.
About Energy Summit held in Lahore, Nawaz said there must be positive outcome of Energy Summit, adding federation and provinces should have taken pragmatic steps in right direction to overcome energy crises. On restoration of Nato supplies‚ Nawaz said public sentiments should be kept in view before taking any decision in this regard.
The PML-N President said people were facing difficult situation due to rising inflation, unemployment, energy crises. He said the government was meeting budget deficit by printing new currency notes. Nawaz welcomed US offer for carrying out rescue operation to recover soldiers and civilians from a massive avalanche that engulfed a military complex at the entrance to the Siachin glacier. He said he wanted to personally supervise the rescue activities at Siachin.
