Secretary Health Punjab, Captain Arif Nadeem (Retd) said on Wednesday that only one confirmed dengue case was reported in the province. He said this during a meeting presided over by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Health Kh Salman Rafiq to review the implementation of steps taken by different departments for dengue prevention and control.
The health secretary informed that during the last three days, health department teams visited 9,988 houses and 87,357 containers for vector surveillance. He said, during these visits dengue larva was reported at a few places. Kh Salman Rafiq directed the TMAs to accelerate and complete registration and licencing of tyre shops procedures on emergent basis.
