The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought a report from Inspector General of Prison by May 7, in a petition filed by an Indian woman seeking release of her son Madan Lal. The petitioner contended that her son came to Pakistan in 1967 and was arrested in a criminal case. She had no contact with her son Madan Lal after he was arrested in the case and convicted by a court.
He therefore prayed to the court to direct the respondent officials to release Madan Lal immediately. The court after hearing the petitioner counsel at length sought a report from IG prison by May 07.
