As many as 16,000 farmers in the flood-hit Mohibanda union council in Nowshera district were given agricultural inputs, including fertilizer, instruments and seeds of wheat, maize and vegetables. The inputs were distributed on Thursday by Pakistan Village Development Programme (PVDP), working under the Community Empowerment and Livelihood Improvement Programme (CELIP) of Trocair.
The project was launched for rehabilitating small growers in the flood-hit area. The organisation is guidance to the farmers at community level for improving output and farmers' income with the cooperation of experts of the provincial department of agriculture.
The initiative had resulted in sufficient increase in the agricultural production, besides providing employment to local people. Farm inputs were provided to farmers in Camp Koroona, Banda Sheikh Isamil, Banda Miagaan, Jabba Daudzai and Momin Ghari villages. PVDP technical experts visited the concluding session of the agricultural fair at Tarnab Farm on Thursday.
