District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has said that filters of water filtration plants should be changed after due date and ordered the administration to register a FIR against firms that do not change filters after due date. He was presiding over a meeting regarding the provision of clean drinking water to the citizens, on Friday, disclosed an official.
He said water filtration plants have been installed to provide clean drinking water to the citizens and its maintenance is the responsibility of the district administration, so that citizens could get clean drinking water without any interruption.
DCO Lahore took notice of complaints regarding tap thefts from water plants and directed the officers concerned that the taps should be welded with water plants. He appealed to the citizens to keep vigilant eye on persons involved in theft, since it is also their obligation to take care of the water plants.
