The developers of nine approved private housing schemes have announced on Friday to construct respective parts of structure plan road from Valencia Town to Raiwind Road, which pass through their schemes, at their own expense. According to a Lahore Development Authority (LDA)'s spokesperson, they made this announcement during a meeting with LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheem.
LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed Khan, Chief Metropolitan Planner Waseem Ahmad Khan and LDA Director Finance Zaheer Asghar Rana were also present on this occasion. The builders maintained that alternate route to Raiwind Road from Khyaban-e-Jinnah, crossing Defence Road, along Butcher Kahna Distributory, Lahore, was an important structure plan road of the area." More than 200,000 housing units will be provided access through this road and this will be an alternate route to Raiwind, as the existing Raiwind Road is choked due to traffic load and commercial activity," they added.
"The developers of private housing schemes requested the Chief Minister for its early construction, so that housing sector in the area could flourish. Construction of this very important arterial route will significantly reduce pressure on the existing roads infrastructure of the city," they said.
