Quetta remained in grip of terrorism as nine more persons including a police man were killed in three different targeted killing incidents of Hazara tribesmen here Saturday. It may be recalled here that 28 persons have been killed in incidents of targeted killings from March 29 this year. Angry people while strongly protesting burnt tyres on different roads and blocked traffic.
Quetta- Chaman section of national highways was also blocked. According to details, terrorists opened fire on a vehicle moving from Hazara Town to Marriabad area on Saturday. As a result six persons were killed and three injured. They were shifted to BMC immediately. Immediately after the incident, unknown persons opened fire in which a man was killed and two were injured. Similarly, two terrorists riding a motorcycle opened fire on a policeman in Shalkot area who died on the spot.
After these incidents, a large number of Hazara tribesmen gathered in front of BMC where they ransacked the offices and set a vehicle on fire. Business centres along Prince Road were immediately closed and students were allowed to go homes before time in view of deteriorating situation.
Aerial firing started in different parts of city including Prince Road, BMC hospital and other areas. Two vehicles were also burnt by angry mob. It caused worst stampede and traffic jam. Children and women returning to their homes from their schools faced great difficulties. Police disappeared and fear and panic gripped the city. Balochistan Shia Conference has announced 40-day mourning. Azadari Council also announced for seven-day mourning.
