PML-N leader, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Saturday that the Punjab government is waiting for the voice of other provinces for the implementation of decisions taken in the National Energy Conference.
Despite being the government of PPP in three provinces, no practical step could be taken so far to overcome energy crisis, he said while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony among 130 trainee graduates of Punjab Skill Development Fund at Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture, here on Saturday.
The PML-N leader said that on the implementation of the decisions in other provinces, we will take the people of Punjab into confidence. Replying to a question, Pervaiz Rashid said that it is beyond comprehensions that there is no electricity in the country and how electricity can be saved by observing two holidays in a week. He said that all industrial units are closed in Punjab and the business activities in Punjab have come to halt due to scheduled and unscheduled load shedding for 8 to 10 hours.
Replying to another question regarding Younis Habib, Pervaiz Rashid said that now the matters are going to their logical end as Younis Habib is levelling allegations only in media but not presenting proofs in the court upon which notice has been sent to him. He said, if Federal government remained busy in transferring and posting of officers for fulfilling its nefarious designs, how it can maintain law and order and provide electricity to the masses.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that the Punjab Skill Development Fund set up with the co-operation of UK's Department for International Development (DFID) is an important step of the Punjab government. The basic objective of this fund is to create maximum job opportunities and eliminate poverty in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Lodhran and Muzaffargarh districts of Southern Punjab by providing technical training to the youth, he added.
The PML-N leader said that provision of training of most demanded skills to the people is top priority of the government so that after getting training they could put share in country's development through their active role. While congratulating trainee graduates on completing their training course, he said that they have to further polish their skill in practical life. He said that being poor or rich is not a shameful thing but being uneducated or unskilled is a matter of shame.
He stressed upon the trainee graduates to make their best efforts for eliminating poverty from the country by utilising their training and skill. Chairman DESCON Abdul Razaq Dawood, Chief Executive Officer PSDF Ali Sarfraz and other prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
