A man committed suicide while two sanitary workers died of suffocation here on Monday in different areas of the city. According to police and rescue sources, a man shot himself dead at his residence located in Manzoor Colony in the limits of Baloch Colony police station. The victim, who was identified as Rao Mohammad Imran, 27, son of Rao Mohammad Ghulam, was the resident of Manzoor Colony Sector I street no 5.
Police said the victim, who was an stock exchange broker, was a debtor of Rs 0.4 million and was not able to pay the same, due to which he committed suicide. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later handed over to the family.
In another incident, two sanitary men died of suffocation while working in sewerage line in Metrovil. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where doctor pronounced their deaths, due to inhaling lethal gas. The decease were identified as Anwar Maseeh, 50, and Naeem Maseeh, 35, son of Younis Maseeh. Police said both victims were the residents of Nusrat Bhutto Colony. Later the bodies were handed over to the heirs.
