Punjab Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh welcomed a seven-member Chinese delegation at Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore here on Tuesday. The delegation is being led by Chinese Foreign Relations Committee's Vice Chairman Liu Dongdong and Zha Peixin.
The delegation during its two-day visit in the provincial metropolis would meet the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and other government high-ups and political figures. It would also review the possibilities of promoting co-operation in various sectors between the two countries and further cementing the Sino-Pak friendly relations. Punjab Minister informed the delegation that the province achieved record production of wheat, rice, sugarcane and cotton due to farmer-friendly policies of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He said Punjab was adopting latest technology in livestock and dairy farming due to which, it was hoped that production of milk and meat would also increase. He said Pakistan had best canal system in the world due to which hundred of thousands of acres were being irrigated.
