LHC rejects old primary school's shifting

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday sets aside district government's notification of shifting a 34 years old primary school from Wahdat Colony to Bhabra stop Gulberg. A local resident of the area Nadeem had challenged the shifting and pleaded that local government had issued a notification to shift primary school to Bhabra Stop Gulberg which is quiet at distance from the present locality.
He said children and parents will face acute problems. The court after hearing the arguments from both side, set aside impugned notification and remarked that it is the duty of state to provide free education to children at their door steps.
